SDG 11 Module Presentation

The Villes et Communautés Durable module prompts students to reflect on what cities of the future will have to be to accommodate a growing world population. For all of us to survive and prosper, new, intelligent urban planning that creates safe, affordable, and resilient cities with green and culturally inspiring living conditions is needed. In this module, students will learn about the evolution of urban structures across centuries, the unsustainability of the cities developed in the mid-20th century and what can be done to make them sustainable, the existing proposals for the development of inclusive and sustainable cities, the roles they can play as citizens in pushing for a sustainable vision for their neighborhood and city, the push-back that exists against these proposals, and the role AI can play in helping shape the cities/housing of the future.
